...if you show me yours

I am accidentally dressed like 2 of my mom’s boxes of Kleenexes. She bought them cause she likes how they look, so maybe I’m ok.

Happy Easter.

Mr. Rogers. Style Icon.

I was wearing this today, plus I had yellow sunglasses. This guy asked me “are you a playwright?” No. “Then an artist of some sort?” No. “Oh, well you’re a good dresser.”
Everything is from JC Penney. They got good stuff these days.

It’s On Sale: Suede Bucks

If you’re looking for a casual shoe to wear with jeans or chinos and have a budget that’s under $100, suede bucks are an option worth pursuing. While white bucks are perhaps best left for summer, bucks in other colors tend to look great year-round. As a knock-around shoe, my tan pair has lasted for several years and is still going. The upper part has been stained blue from the indigo off my jeans and the suede’s developed some uneven wear patterns and even some spots from spilled drinks. I don’t mind any of this because it was a cheap shoe and I don’t have to obsess over maintenance on it like I would a calf-leather pair of shoes.

Two places have bucks on sale that’s worth checking out. The “Brockton” model from G.H.Bass is on sale for $63.20 with free shipping.

Additionally, L.L.Bean is having a 15% off sale right now — use code JAN15 — which brings their tan and chocolate brown pairs down to $68, also including free shipping.

I bought Bass ones for $20 in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago. I have lighter ones I got at Daffy’s (R.I.P.) for $20 too. I need to stop buying shoes.

The other day I was annoyed by my job, so to remind me why I have one, I went looking for things to buy online. I’ve been after a Fair Isle sweater for a while and the stores I go in never have any, so I tried Google. Google shopping is great! It showed me all the sweaters and let me sort them. And that’s how I found Asos. I never got anything from there before, but they had sales and have free shipping and they sold me this sweater. I got it today and I’m happy. I also got some green pants for $13 and I like them too.

Sometimes people send me horrible clothing items. I rarely post them. These, though… these are in a class of their own. Chainmail toe shoes. Astonishing.
And that’s without even getting into the part of their marketing copy which reads, “Get undivided attention of friends and people around you - and have fun!”
Goodness, gracious. If your primary sartorial issue is that people’s attention to you and your shoes isn’t undivided… oof.
